New Community Incoming: Here's What to Expect
The time is almost upon us! In just a few short days, we'll be undertaking the transition to our brand new Community platform. But before that, there are a few key things that you should know:
On Tuesday, December 7, this forum will be locked. You'll still be able to view and read through all posts, but you won't be able to add new comments or create new threads. This is necessary so that our dev team can work on migrating the existing data to the new platform.
Logging In for the First Time
Once the migration is complete (which should be later that day), you'll be redirected to our new home at http://community.simplisafe.com.
You'll need to have a SimpliSafe account in order to interact in the Community. If you're already a SimpliSafe customer, and/or are already a member of our current forum, an account has already been created for you - just use the same username and password as the main site. Of course, if you don't have an account yet, you can create a new one from the login screen. If you have trouble with logging in, you can email our team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
You'll also be able to customize your profile - like your display picture and username. You'll even be able to write a little about yourself, if you like!
Post History Preserved
Because this current forum has been around for nearly a decade, with a huge number of posts, we won't be able to migrate everything. But we'll be porting over all posts starting from 2018 - just before the launch of the 3rd Gen SimpliSafe system.
If you're an existing member of our Community, all of your posts from 2018 and later will still be attributed to you. You'll be able to check your stats, and even go back to your old threads!
The new platform is choc full of great new features that will make the SimpliSafe Community more inviting and easier to navigate and use - for old-timers and newcomers alike. We can't wait for you to see it!
