Annoying away beep on the keypad in master bedroom.

How about a "bedroom mode". I often have to leave the system in Home mode because it wakes my wife who retires to bed before me.It makes no sense that it cannot be muted in the bedroom. Being a programmer myself this would be a 30 minute hack for one of your IT people. People have been complaining of this for a few years. Please correct this with an update.!

I'm impressed.  You are a programmer who intuitively knows SS hardware and software and can see the code needed.  Silly me, I thought the away beeps were hard coded into the keypad.  I wish I had your magic power...  I'd actually write the code needed and give it to SS for free; why don't you?

Indeed no superpowers here. The software point is to control the hardware. In this case volume control for that beep. Have a nice day.

You could turn it off my way.  I took the keypad apart and ripped the speaker off the circuit board.  :)

He has a valid argument tho 7.  We keep a keypad in the master bedroom as well.  With the smart locks it makes for an easy way to lock up the house at night.  With our older kid coming and going at all hours it quickly became a problem for us.  So I voided my warranty and disabled the speaker.  Ironically, shortly after that we all migrated to using the SS app for coming and going which eliminated the beeps anyways.  Oh well.

@ckelle  You are assuming that the base controls the keypad volume.  I am assuming that the keypad volume is hard coded in the keypad.  Which of us is correct?

@dp, of course his desire is entirely reasonable.  I'm just complaining about his claim that "a simple code change" can make it happen.  Certainly it is POSSIBLE that the system is designed such that it could be done in code, but my experience tells me that it is more likely that a hardware change to the keypad will be required.

7, I have a feeling you are probably correct.
