Communication Unsuccessful error message

I have recently been receiving Communication Unsuccessful Message on SS App dashboard when
I load app or do a refresh on dashboard screen.  Problem seemed to begin after I installed
Smart Lock. SS support has not been able to ID issue at this time.  There is no impact to any
system functionality.  Did notice that system was asking about Bluetooth connection during smart lock
Install (don't recall exact message).  I have bt
turned on in app option screen in iPhone general settings
for SS app.  Same issue whether or not bt turned on

Issue presents on both iPhone 7 and 10 under both IOS 12 and 13

Thinking this may related to Smart lock and bt connectivity?


My issue has been resolved with new SS app update Version 2074.7.12

Same exact issue here.  No issues previously with the app, but after installing the new smart locks...logging into the app now immediately prompts a splash message that says "Communication unsuccessful.  Check your connection and try again."  This message freezes on the screen and basically renders the app useless - which is a problem since the app is the only method to control the new smart locks remotely (e.g. for monitoring guest access, etc.).  I also get the "allow Bluetooth access?" prompt when logging in post-smart lock install.  Certainly seem related and hopefully the SS team will identify a solution fast.  Again, given that they require the $25 monitoring package to be able to remotely unlock/lock within the now broken app.

Just got off a 40 minute call with CS @ Simplisafe and they do not seem to have any idea what is causing the issue.  Said they'd investigate and call me back.

Same here. I installed front and back spent a long time on the phone with support. We got it to work if only 1 lock (device) added to the system. They sent me a replacement for my back lock. Installed and added the replace. Same issue again. I have had time to call support.  I'm just glad to see it's not isolated and hopefully they get a software or app fix.

Same issue here. Installed the new smart lock this weekend and now my app is getting the same pop up communication unsuccessful error. The app and lock seem to be working perfectly fine though. The pop up goes away after a few secs.

Same here for me and wife both iPhones one on the old IOS and me on 13.  I also noticed my android tablet had no issues
