how to view history of video recordings

I am on the $24.99 monthly interactive subscription plan with a simplisafe camera. i am using the app and i see the "live view" but cannot see where I can get a history of earlier recordings.  

can someone help?

at least for the android app, scroll to the right to the timeline or got to the menu (upper left), select timeline, and then in either case go to the time of the video you want to watch and select it

So I went to the upper left, "menu" option and select "time line" it only shows times and a description of the event that occurred.  there's no indication of how to see video history.

OH wait..never mind.  I see it now. I have to go the event and then expand.  I dont think this is very intuitive. the description of the event "system disarmed" has nothing to do with what's on the video!

Yeah, now that they are getting the video doorbell and focusing more on video, the app needs to be updated to make it easier to manage all the recordings. I love the camera with its hardware lens cover and the design, and it works flawlessly for me, but the app could use some love.

Recorded videos are saved for 30 days IIRC.

You can download them individually and save them locally for however long you want. But to answer what I think you're asking, SS doesn't allow you to save them on their servers for longer because
a) saving extra data costs extra money
b) seemingly simple programming deviations are far more complex than we may expect
c) you will have to ask SS themselves - let us know what they say

How can I view just the time line for one individual camera.  I don't like to have to scroll through all three cameras in order to see just the one.  Especially on the app....its nearly impossible to watch all of the videos for the 1.5 minute period at a time.

@agentkelly67 , excellent question, and since its not available. an even more great suggestion for the feature to be added. SS, ability to sort your timeline by type would be awesome.

When attempting to view recorded footage through the timeline feature, there is not one single video for the entire past week? We have 7 cameras, many animals and people walking through these spaces for hours and hours daily. How can this be? What's the fix here?

If you have gone 7 days with no footage to view, you definitely have an issue. Call SS support now. They just opened.

juli.tredwell this is a problem that SS has been having. I am also having the same issue. Per SS their engineering department is working on this. I would call SS and request to speak to a supervisor. Inform them that you know this is a known issue.

I have the same issue as juli.t and sh2402.   I have had no videos to view since March 11, when I changed the email address on my account.  I can still get live views, but nothing gets saved.  SS support says all three of my cameras are "trying to save, repetitively, caused by either a power or internet outage.  Still seems extremely odd to me that it happened after an account change which had to be done by customer service.  Or that this had never happened before.  
They are sending replacements.
