How to view logs

Is there a way to view a log of every time I make setting changes? Also, is there a way to turn off logging all together. From a safety standpoint I'd like to see every change I've ever made and I'm hoping it's possoble.

@sandequ, unfortunately, all you can see is the current status of your overall system and the current settings for every individual sensor, if you have the 24.99 plan.  The timeline will show all events that occur with the system.  You may want to call SS and see if they can providing any system config logging.

Thanks for the the quick response! So, I can't see past setting or changes but SS may be able to send me one, right? Also, is there a way to turn logging off all together while still aing and disarming the system?

If you subscribe to monitoring, you cannot turn off logging in the Timeline. I am sure it has been explained at some point by SimpliSafe staff (unfortunately the lack of an exact search function makes it impossible to find quickly), but the inability to do so is for the company's protection (and (y)our own).

And in my opinion, that is a good thing. You could have people (even those you know, but have not authorized to enter your home) come and go as they please, and you would have no idea if the option were available.

(Which brings me to a question - is the Timeline/logging functional without monitoring? Since I have always been a subscriber, I have no idea if any events appear if you do not subscribe)

@ Shiherlis, I may be wrong but I think sandequ was talking about beyond the timeline view, and that is showing every single setting change. For example. moving the motion sensitivity setting from low to medium.  Again, sandegu, this is currently not visible, and whether it is "on or off". Suggest you call SS directly to discuss.

Ah! I got it, Captain.

My apologies, sandequ!

Might be some place or some how to see sensors added or removed and maybe even changes to delays and such. But, I'd wager the SS base has no idea what is the sensitivity setting of a motion sensor. All the base would knows is if it gets a trigger from the sensor.

Just because of this missing feature in the SimpliSafe system, I am planning to switch back to my old home security system. This is a very important feature and I've read several posts where users are requesting SimpliSafe for this feature and user's requests are being ignored by SimpliSafe. How hard it is to program writing activity logs from the sensor to the base unit??? SimpliSafe is taking so long to have this feature and I'm sure it will lose a lot of business just because of this. Such a turn off.

Adding more sensors is costly. Moreover they send email or SMS alerts. I'd like all the sensor activity to be visible in one central location which is the Simplisafe App.

In adding components to the system and going into the menu, though I label them, if I want to go back and check them I don't see them come up by the names I've given them. This makes it hard to to know what's what in the system. Also, I've noted that I can leave a door open and set the alarm and the alarm will set without letting me know at the control panel. It does have a verbal which comes from the base station but in our house you can't hear that from the control panel. Thus, will the system set itself and send an alarm as our previous system wouldn't let you set the alarm and on the screen said "patio door open". Thus you can set the alarm, leave with a door open and once gone the alarm will go off? Not happy at the moment s not sure it's cracked up to what I was told when I bought it.

The alarm will not go off.  The open sensor is ignored until it is closed, then it is active normally.
