Installation Pro Help

Hi all.

Not a big deal since there is no charge until booking.  I signed up for the pro installation help when I ordered my system.  I'm sure that I'm capable of it, but it felt better to leave that in another set of hands.

My system hasn't been delivered yet, so maybe I am jumping the gun here, but I have not seen any information or contact on how or who does that installation.

I've done a little googling and found a few places that do it if I can't get the info, but does anyone happen to know how that pro installation help works?

Thanks.

I am sure you could do it by yourself. I have recommended and placed 30 systems, and everyone has done it themselves. That siad, here is the website for HelloTech, the company that SS has as its partner.

My apologies but no experience how it is coordinated.

Please post your experience here if you get a chance.

Will do.

Very possible my system will just be packaged with something about HelloTech since that seems to be the partner they use anyway.

Which took me to

Keep in mind that if "someone else" installs your security system, then they know everything about it, including what sensors are where, how to disable it, all access codes, and in the case of some systems (not SS), can add "override codes".

Considering that too.  It's a big reason I checked the box knowing it didn't have to be booked or paid for right away.

It's as simple as pushing a few buttons to sync the sensors to your keypad and then sticking the sensors where you want them.

The setup is very simple, in fact my 10 y/o did most of the setup I just put the senors up, the manual explains it in simple easy to understand directions...

Here is the instructions manual for you to look at... https://simplisafe.com/files/pdf/instructions/manual_ss3_1_03.pdf

Go ahead and look at it now so you'll already know what to expect

If I can install it myself, anyone can.  I know everyone hears that all the time, but if you follow the manual, or, if you get to a hiccup, just call SS for assistance.  Just set up base, keypads and sensors, go online to "activate", (or can call SS to activate for you), or if still not comfortable using the system after setup, you will automatically have a 72-hour "practice mode", then it will automatically go "live" after that. (and you can even extend the practice mode if you like, call SS to ask).  Tip:  given the long wait times with SS customer support, lately, try calling at 9 am (ET) when they first open, try pressing #1 for sales, hopefully someone will answer sooner).

In case, SS "forgets" to send the user manual with your system, you can find it here:  https://simplisafe.com/manual

(btw, it takes longer than the claimed 5 or 10 minutes to set up), but you can flip through the manual before your system arrives to prepare for how easy it is to set up.  Any other questions you can also post on the forums.

Quick update on this.

Stuff got delivered well within the promised range, but no info about the installation help came with it.

Called in today and got through very quickly (< 3 mins).

The answer is basically call HelloTech.

Simplisafe Tech Here, Self-install

I do not recommend having the your simplisafe system installed by HelloTech, unless you have a physical limitation. Not worth $79.

Agreed.  Only part I'm even remotely worried about is the doorbell anyway.

hardest part about the doorbell is getting the QR code to scan. It also requires you to have Simplisafe app.

It seems the hardest part about the "doorbell" is having an acceptable doorbell system already installed, since the "doorbell" is actually a camera which happens to have a doorbell button included.

Did the same, NEVER received my pro help!
