No search facility here in the forums??

You are correct - there is no integrated search in the forums and it makes them siginificantly less useful.

We have been told that changes are coming soon but in the meantime you can try searching using "site:simplisafe.com searchterm" (without the quotes) but it won't target the forums specifically. Supposedly site:simplisafe.com/forum also works but I have literally never seen that work on any browser, on windows, android, etc.

Thanks. Fairly surprising, darn near the smallest websites I visit these days have at least some kind of search. Bizarre.

We've beaten SimpliSafe up pretty badly on this one so hopefully what they've said is coming soon is actually coming soon. Fingers crossed. There are a LOT of modern features missing on these forums, not just search.
