Simplicam flashes yellow. Anything else to try?

I'm trying to setup a new Simplicam tonight. The light flashes white, and the camera immediately sees the QR code in the app. Then, after a minute or so, the app reports the camera is connected but also offline. The camera flashes yellow indicating it doesn't have internet access. The router reports the camera has an IP address and a 99% WiFi strength. I am typing this on the same network, meaning the internet connection is good.

Oddly, when I go to the app and delete the camera, the light on the camera immediately turns blue, indicating a good connection. Of course at this point I can't see it in the app because I've just deleted it. The light on the camera stays solid blue until I press the reset button, and then it all starts again: flashing white, immediate "OK" of QR code, flashing yellow for over an hour, solid blue as soon as I remove it from the app. Is there anything else I can try to make the camera connect without deleting it from the app? If I see the solid blue (connected) light, is there any way to add it back to the app without resetting it?

@tanderson92 I would remove it, install again and then leave it for about 20 minutes. I have 3 simplicams, and one exhibited simillar behaviour.  Advised by rep when I got through the firmware had updated and reconnected. You may have an updaet under way. You can try it and be on hold waiting for an agent at the same time.

Thanks for the insight. I left it alone all night, and this morning it comes on when I walk in front of it, with a solid blue light. However, the app insists it's offline. The router shows it's at 100% wifi, and it's almost directly under the ceiling-mounted AP. I removed it again and reset. Once again the app setup reports "your camera is online" while displaying a box saying my camera is offline. The yellow light is flashing, and has been for over 10 minutes. What are the chances it's downloading another firmware update the next day? While most of the Simplisafe system has been simple to install, this has been frustrating.

As I kept searching, I came across this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/simplisafe/comments/n9iqld/camera_wont_connect_to_wifi/.

I turned off motion detection, and the camera started working right away. Now I'll give it some time to be sure the firmware update is complete, and then I'll try the motion again. For reference, since it doesn't match the documentation, the light is currently on solid yellow as it apparently downloads a new firmware. The camera still works while this firmware update is in progress.

Hi tanderson92,

The yellow light should normally mean that the camera is connected to your router, but isn't able to get through to our website (via the wider internet, of course). So usually we'd want to troubleshoot your router's settings, in case your firewall or other security settings are getting in the way.

But the workaround in the reddit post works because of a known firmware issue that (confusingly, I know) has nothing to do with the camera's connectivity. As the thread describes, you just want to disable the Motion Sensor setting temporarily. Eventually, the camera will update itself to the latest firmware version, which no longer has this issue.
