SimpliSafe Alarm bypassed with a $2 device from Amazon?

I am concerned about this "hacking issue"  (SimpliSafe Alarm Bypassed With a $2 Device From Amazon) reported on You Tube at https://youtu.be/UlNkQJzw4oA.  There are other postings similar to this one.

What does SimpliSafe intend to do about this?

With this issue, it appears cancelling SimpliSafe (and moving to another system) might be considered if this is not addressed properly.

Hi @andy4life !

What you're describing is called jammingand it is indeed a big concern for all wireless systems. But your SimpliSafe system already has a built-in warning system via Intelligent Jam Detection. If it ever detects a potential attack, you'll get an immediate push notification - and it will be recorded on your Timeline event log.

If you would like to know more about this topic and other ways that we keep your system safe from cyber-crooks, you can read our official response here.

You know what else the burglars could do? They could use an EMP and burn out all the electronics on your property..  The $2 amazon jammer has a very limited range and like the community admin mentioned, the system will alert you to jamming.

I don't advertise the property is protected by SimpliSafe to start off with, and utilize more than one security measure.

Yes running hardline's to EVERY door and window sensor might be the most secure option but do you really want to do that?
