Smart Lock Mounted Outside (is it safe?)

Has anyone installed the Smart Lock on the outside of their home, such as the front or side door?  I have a concern that the keypad could malfunction due to extreme temperatures and moisture OR someone could steal the keypad.  Any thoughts on this?

Well you don't have to use the keypad if you don't want to, but it was designed to be outdoors so it should hopefully handle extreme temperatures.  I probably wouldn't put it somewhere that exposes it to direct rain tho.

And if someone takes the pin pad, you can get another for $29.95.  They accidentally sent an extra with my smart lock, and charged me.  But they took a return on it.

I think mine is screwed in, I can't even figure out how to easily remove it today.

There is a special tool to remove it, if you screw in the pinpad.
"NOTE
Use the included screws for a more permanent attachment. To access the screw holes, use the included tool to remove the back of the PIN pad. Screw the back to the door and reattach PIN pad."

If someone steals the keypad, they cannot open the door or disarm the system, since they don't know the code.

If it is stolen, you can easily use the app or the website to remove the keypad from the system.  I had a keypad with a defective battery clip.  I asked SimpliSafe to ship a new keypad, and they insisted that I needed a new lock and keypad.  Incorrect.  They shipped a new lock and keypad, I deleted my old keypad, added the new keypad, and everything works fine.

Pretty disappointing that a customer knows more than SimpliSafe Support.

Thanks for the replies.  I suppose if nobody has torn my garage door keypad off the outside of the house yet, the Smart Lock keypad is probably just as safe.  As for extreme temps, will the keypad survive in temps as low as 20F below (a rarity but it has happened here) and 100F in the summer?
