Wifi says it's connected but really isn't

I have contacted simplisafe and they sent me a new base unit due to lack of cell signal. That's working great. I was not able to connect to wifi all of a sudden with the old unit, too. Well, the new unit is on and paired with my keypad. It searched for wifi, found the ssid, entered the password, and the keypad says connected. When I go to check for updates, it tells me that I need to be connected to wifi even after it said it was connected. Also, under diagnostics, it says wifi: none no ip and no RSSI, but does have a mac address.

I have done everything. Took the battery out, unplugged, let set for 3 mins, plugged it in with the battery out. Nothing works.

Please advise.

MAC addresses are permanent to the device and set by the manufacturer. So that will always be there connected or not. Try connecting it to a different router... Also the base station only wants to be connected to a 2.4Ghz band not the faster 5.0Ghz band the dual routers have

Also, make sure your router isn't putting the Simplisafe device in a "quarantine". Some routers/firewalls do this for security purposes. If that is the case, you may have to "approve" it or "allow" it to connect. Also, check your DNS that is configured on your router and on your DHCP server (which may also be a service running on the router too). Those are just a few of the things that come into mind. Although this could be many things.

Hi @ramdaspadhye ,

I agree, the next step is to troubleshoot your router in case a security or other setting is preventing the connection from going through. Steelick and Dave001w offer some great advice already, but another thing I can suggest is to set up a guest WiFi network on just the 2.4GHz bands. The Base Station might have an easier time connecting to that.
