If I have cameras installed inside and out and they are monitored by SimpliSafe are they able to determine if it is a false call?

Hi, welcome to SimpliSafe, and our community!

When there's an alarm event, and if you have Monitoring enabled, you'll get a call from a Monitoring operator. They'll ask you for your Safe Word passcode, and whether or not you need assistance.

If you're not able to answer, they'll call the local authorities on your behalf.

There is a feature called Video Verification. What this does is that during an alarm event, a recording from all cameras is sent to the operator. This happens only for that one alarm event, so the operators are not able to just access your cameras at any time.

Video Verification is the most useful for locations where your local police would need an eyewitness account of a crime in progress before sending out an officer. However, if the operator does not see anyone in the recording, they would still call your local police, and relay that info to them.

Video Verification doesn't stop the regular procedure, they'd still have to follow the steps and get the Safe Word to disregard any alarm. But if they do see a real emergency, they'll be able let the emergency services know about it to get them to you quicker. Hope that helps!

I get the operators cannot view the cameras at any time except for an "event".  But say the event is due to an animal the operator will be able to see this and would not call the police on my behalf.  Is that correct?
