Feature-limited Simplisafe app that monitors cameras only

I wonder if anyone has ever thought of creating a Simplisafe-camera only app, that can be used only for monitoring cameras.  I would like to have an Android pad device that constantly monitors outdoor and doorbell cameras, but does not require logging in (except to view prior events).  I would like to have something sitting on the tabletop that can be easily grabbed and viewed.  But I would not want something that allowed people to turn off the system (or would require a PIN, at the very least).

Hi! The functionality that you describe sounds a bit like our Camera widget, which is already included with the SimpliSafe app.

Except that of course, we treat the cameras just as critically as the rest of the system (since we'd want to protect your privacy as well). So you'll only be able to access cameras if you're already logged in, but once you are, you have access to everything.

Mmmmm.  Not crazy about having to log in to view the camera feeds, or leave them logged in (and hence unsecured) to continuously monitor the feeds.  I might have to figure out another solution.

I would also like a dedicated app to quickly view cameras (single and multi-view live feed). This would be perfect for a wall mounted iPad or Google Nest Hub to quickly see cameras.

@davey_d The problem with the camera widget is

1. Anyone who has access to the cameras can also now (accidentally) arm or disarm the system

2. The app starts in portrait mode all the time. If my device is already in landscape mode (iPad), I have to rotate to portrait mode then back to landscape mode to get the camera view to be landscape.

Hi @SafeCats and @bills_60526 ,

Understood. To clarify, the widget is more of a quick access. By default it will just show a snapshot of your last livestream. So not like a 'command center view', with all livestreams playing at once. When you select a camera, that will take you back into the app. And if you have App Lock enabled, you'll be asked to enter your App Lock PIN, or unlock with biometrics again.

So to revise what I said earlier, the widget wouldn't be exactly what you're looking for.

I really like the system, and this would be a neat new feature in my opinion.  I like the idea of a wall mounted tablet computer, or something I can just sit tableside.  Hopefully, the engineers will agree.
