Considering Simplisafe for business use

I am thinking of getting simplisafe for my business. I currently have an outdated system which I plan to replace.

I got 2 things on my mind before getting it. Can anyone answer this?

1. Door chime. My business sometimes doesn't have the receptionist at the front desk at all times, so door chimes are extremely important. I wonder if the extra sirens can function as door chimes. If so, I would like to get a couple so that they alert my staff when someone enters the building. Obviously, I do not want door chimes from sirens to be extremely loud but loud enough to let the staff in the backroom know that a customer / or mailman entered the building. So they can run to the front desk.

2. Amazon Echo: following up on the previous question, I got amazon echos all around the business for the staff to listen to music. I see that simplisafe is compatible with amazon echo. It would be the most ideal if echo can be used as door chimes. Let's say someone enters building, echo lets me that the customer entered the building or front door opened.

TIA!

You will find your answer to your first question on this best buy link.  As far as the 2nd, you are out of luck because with the echo you can only do two things: 1. arm the system and 2. confirm the alarm is armed.  When you think about the security implications, you may well think this is a good thing.

Hi dr.robert,

As the captain hints at above, yes, SimpliSafe features a door chime, through both the Base Station and all connected Wireless Sirens.

On the second question, when subscribed to Interactive Monitoring, you'll be able to connect your system to Amazon's Alexa for voice activated arming. But no, there's no function that allows non-SimpliSafe components from also acting as speakers.

@dr.robert I believe you will enjoy your system. One tip: the new help center is very good, but if you have questions best to just pick up the phone and call support. They are a friendly bunch and do try hard to  solve your issue(s). Best of luck with your new system.

I hope you considered the number of individual PINS and the single account login for remote access personnel. Those two are often bones of contention for business users or people with many people needing to disarm the system for entry.
