Video doorbell for the UK

Does anybody know when the video doorbell will be released in the UK? I spoke to customer support about 3 months ago and was offered a trial with a white video doorbell but had to refuse as I needed it in black to match our doors and windows. It's the only thing I need for such a great and easy to use system.......

Really bad  service...........Trying to claw back my money that Simplisafe took from my debit card:

Imagine that! They cancelled my order and never returned my money. I have a VPN and Simplisafe cancelled my order because my IP address was different..... DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These people are no AMAZON service reps. this company sucks big time.

This has happened many times with other customers.  Call them back and demand your cc is credited (unless you really want to buy the system, then just provide the answers they want or whatever it is they need to verify your purchase).  Otherwise, instead of waiting for SS to get their **** in a group, dispute the charges with your credit card issuer (chargeback), you'd probably get your credit faster than SS getting it done anyway.

Hello,

Just chiming in to clarify. We do have an automated filter that looks out for potential order issues, and if our human agent reviews and is unable to verify the order, they do cancel it and issue a refund immediately. It's likely that the order in question had already been refunded, but the balance may just take a few days to be reflected on the credit card statement.

I was thinking the same - last year a UK customer service advisor told me we should expect them last summer, but since then I haven't heard or seen anything about it.

Apart from the professional monitoring, Ring, Blink or Google Nest might be a better option if you are looking for a service with a decent range of devices/solutions for home security.

Hi  

The Simplisafe doorbell has been available in the US for many years so I don't quite understand why this, the same doorbell in the US cannot be rolled out in the UK also, there clearly is a demand for it.  I cannot see what restrictions or complications there could be if it was available UK.  Its a simple video doorbell that connects via wireless to a phone, simples! or am I missing something?

Well I’ve heard that one before…. Over a year ago. Let’s see if this is actually true or just more lies. Getting close to cancelling my account and moving to a provider who has all the functionality I need.

If I order a doorbell from the USA, can I use it with my system in the UK?

Hi @diananuk and @charlottedady90 ,

The limitation is in the circuitry, I'm afraid. The Video Doorbell Pro available in the US needs to be installed on an existing wired doorbell system, and it's not made to be compatible with UK electrical systems. So if you import one from the US, it's very unlikely to work.

Just to add to Davey's response, we are working on a doorbell solution for our UK customers, we'll hopefully be able to announce more information soon. But like Davey said, we wouldn't recommend purchasing the Video Doorbell Pro from the US at this stage.

I was told in August last year that a UK doorbell would be available in Jan/Feb.  The fact that it is "still in development" would suggest it's a way off yet (especially as it looks like they've been trialling for two years already).  With parcels 'disappearing' in our area, I can no longer sit around and wait for an invisible timeline.

It's a shame because the system is otherwise decent (apart from an annoying camera defect that is 'built by design').

So this, and the probability that the bell will require hard-wiring are forcing me to look at alternatives. The good news is that used systems go for about 2/3 of what I paid, so at least it wasn't a complete throwaway purchase.

I have asked a few times now about the camera and also asked to be part of the trial but every answer is it us still being developed. I have given up hope now and had to get a Ring one which I need to pay a separate subscription on and works of a different app platform. 

Any update would be amazing

I'd be surprised to see it any time soon. They've been saying it's coming soon for years. 

Everyone got their hopes up a while back when they announced a product everyone has been asking for was coming, they then released an outdoor camera, you could already use their other cameras outdoors with a kit and I'd never read from any one online asking for it.
