Which device makes the announcements?

I've been trying to figure out where the announcements and/or alerts come from.  Does it come from the base station or the keypad?  Trying to make sure I will hear alerts in the event I am in the basement or upstairs away from them.

Base Station

It comes from the base station, but whether or not you could hear it in the basement would depend on the location of the base station in relation to the basement door. You can adjust the level of sound from the base station, but it isn't too loud even at max.
